Four Months Ago...

Four months ago we held our first service at the theater. We did ALL that we could to make it the biggest and best worship experience we could as a young fledgling church. I watched our first service on video tonight and MAN have we come a long way. I am definitely glad we did previews cause...well, just believe me when I say it's good we practiced. I chuckled at the set up we did and where we are at now. I think we'll keep laughing at our progress. Check out the difference in appearance from July 1st to Oct. 28th.

What a GREAT God we serve that allows us to be creative and expand our ideas and ministry. God doesn't want us to remain the same. I think God LOVES seeing his people create and innovate in His church. I think His heart swells when His people can try and connect the Gospel with their culture and new ways that they can relate too. The Gospel NEVER changes. The presentation and methods will ALWAYS change. And hopefully at Element Church, they will always get better. That last picture is our surfboard Sunday. (They are supposed to be stain glass windows) That's what we get for trying to be creative.

Theater Update

I put in the weekend wrapup that the theater we meet in was getting a new manager. Nicole, who is the current Assistant Manager, had put in to be the GM. We REALLY wanted that because someone coming in that had no vested interest in us could just shut the door on us. I called Nicole today to make sure we were still on for this Sunday and found out that she had just been named the manager. SO, for the time being everything is still the same. She now has say in what happens but has been GREAT to work with so far as an assistant. We assume everything will carry on as it was but your prayers are still appreciated. This is a HUGE praise the Lord and answer to prayer.

Theatre Set Up

Wow, today was exciting. It seems there aren't enough hours in the day to get done what we need to get done for Sunday. Today we got to go set up all of our e:worship stuff in the main auditorium. It was a BLAST! Made me ready to get it on on Sunday. From the time we started backing the trailer up to the time we had everything set up it was 1 hour and 5 minutes. That was a killer time and we were going very slow. Now that we know how it goes in we should shave a bunch of time off that. It took us 35 minutes to tear down and load the trailer. Again that is going slow. I am very excited about how well everything worked. We are gonna be last minute on projector issues. We did not buy a projector for e:worship since we are able to use the theatres, HOWEVER, as of today we did not have the proper connection to hook up our laptops to their projector. Tomorrow we think we'll have it solved. MAN, I am so excited for Sunday. The e:kidz area is gonna be a total blind set up. We didn't have time to get in their today. I think it will be ok. Our sound system sounds GREAT in there. Adam fabricated a stage for us which gets us off the floor and more level with the people. That was HUGE. If we didn't have the stage I think it would look tacky with us all the way on the floor. There are some pictures below. We are dead center on the front row, but according to the picture it looks like we aren't centered with the screen. May need to adjust that. We are going to record the whole service on Sunday and I'll get some highlights up on the blog Sunday. Tomorrow and Saturday we'll be tying up loose ends and then gearing up for Sunday morning. WOW, we are really doing this! Love it.
